Peter
Ashley studied music at Liverpool
and trained on the organ at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King,
Liverpool. During his teaching career he has worked extensively with young
people in Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Kent, establishing a number of choirs and
youth orchestras. At present Peter is Head of School of ICT at Bromley College of F&HE as well as the
Programme Director for Teacher Training in Post Compulsory Education and
Training (PCET) in association with Greenwich University and Canterbury
Christ Church University College; he is also the Conductor of Bearsted Choral
Society and Organist at St Stephen's Church, Chatham.
Martin Hogben,
a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, studied organ with Martindale
Sidwell and Alan Harveson and piano with Fiona Cameron. He combines teaching
with performing as an accompanist and recitalist. He is the Assistant
organist at the Royal Military Chapel (Guards Chapel) Wellington Barracks,
London. He has featured recently at the Royal Festival Hall, Chichester Cathedral and
on BBC Radio 3.
Trevor Brearley has lived in Bearsted for over 30 years. He
studied
organ, piano and flute at the Royal College of Music and was awarded the
Stuart
prize for organ playing. He undertook post-graduate studies in London and Kent and was awarded an MA
performance
degree with distinction following a two-year course on aspects of
accompaniment. Trevor retired from teaching recently after 28 years at
Sir
Joseph Williamson’s Mathematical School Rochester. He has worked as a
conductor
and keyboard player with many choirs, orchestras and soloists locally as
well
as giving solo recitals and is organist and choirmaster at St Nicholas
Church
Otham.
