Bearsted Choral Society is an amateur four-part choir of 60 members.  We sing a variety of choral music spanning all musical periods.  In recent seasons we have enjoyed exploring the choral work of a wide variety of composers including Faure, Finzi and Chilcott as well as lighter material by Cole Porter, Lloyd Webber and Flanders and Swann.  The Concert archive page and our previous concert year pages provide a more detailed history of our varied repertoire.
We perform our concerts at Bearsted Parish Church (Holy Cross) and at other venues in and around Maidstone.
We have a committed approach to our singing but our primary aim is to enjoy making music together.  The choir is known for its friendliness, something which is highly valued by its members.
The society welcomes new members in all voice parts - soprano alto tenor and bass.  We do not hold auditions and ask only that you are enthusiastic committed and sing in tune. Our musical season begins each September and is divided into three terms.  Each term we rehearse a work or works for concert performance generally engaging professional soloists.
We meet for rehearsal every Monday evening at 7.30.pm at the Methodist Church in Ware Street Bearsted ME14 4PG.  If you are interested then please come along and give us a try.  For further information about rehearsals please follow one of the links below:
The choir is available to sing at weddings (for which a fee is payable).  If you would like more information about this please call 01622 735527 or email:  weddings@bearstedchoral.org.uk
