Trevor Brearley

Trevor Brearley was born in Kent and has lived in Bearsted for nearly 40 years. He studied organ, piano and flute at the Royal College of Music and was awarded the Stuart prize for organ playing. He undertook postgraduate studies in London and Kent and was awarded an MA performance degree with distinction following a two-year course on aspects of accompaniment.

Trevor taught Music and Mathematics for 28 years at Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School Rochester, where, for many years, he was Director of Music. He has worked as a conductor with many choirs, orchestras and soloists and is Parish Organist for St Nicholas Church, Otham and St Mary's Church, Langley in addition to rehearsal commitments for Bearsted Choral Society.

In retirement, he has continued to work as a musician and has also presented numerous fund-raising concerts and recitals for the Friends of Otham Church and other organisations. His three grown-up children all live locally. Trevor's interests include working with visually-impaired people, foreign travel, cooking, keeping fit and the arts.
